How to send the sound signal from sound recorder like sound device mixpre 10 to the cameras wireless not by cables?
Hi there, please contact our support team with your question. service.sounddevices.com/contact-support/
How much will you be overcharging to service this turd?
Soon wireless receiver and mixers will be combined.
All we need now is a 2U SuperNexus Plus!🤣
I am very interested in this device. But I would like to wait for Gen 3. Since the mix pre gen ii is at least 3 to 4 years old at this point. Anything in the works? Thanks.
having the solo button next to the mute button seems like suicide in a live situation. one slip with the finger and the sound will be muted on the recording? hope there are other ways of soloing than this one..
amazing video!! please upload hd / 4k version to see well the details!
Quick disclaimer! In this subnet. Can i or is a must to have booth virtual and controler into macLaptop?
To route into your computer, you'll need a license for Dante Virtual Soundcard and Dante Controller,
The only functionality wanted is preamp gain. No use for it otherwise
the mixpre 10 ii has line Level outputs , the mixpre 6ii does not , the canon c70 has line level outputs but in so how do I get line level synched audio with the mixpre 6ii plugged into the canon c70. im not refering to recording separate audio , i want to synch the audio with canon c70 camera .
If you have a MixPre-6 II, I would recommend recording the audio separately as you will lower the quality of the recording by relying in your Canon C70's preamp. The MixPre-6 II offers a 3.5mm TRS Stereo Output which you could run into the stereo input of the C70. I wouldn't bother running a 3.5mm TRS to XLR cable into the camera's XLR inputs since the signal coming out of the MixPre is already unbalanced. If you have a MixPre-10 II, I'd recommend using the TA3 outputs for routing to the XLR inputs of your C70 at line level.
@@sounddev so the mixpre 10ii is line level with c70 but the mixpre 6ii is not with c70? Most work I “don’t “ want to record separate audio . Will the mixpre 10ii ta3 outputs to xlr inputs be balanced and will quality be at its best or is it the same as the mixpre 6ii where u mentioned that with 6ii it will lower quality into a c70 preamp ?

Thank you, just did it without a hitch just as you instructed and it worked. One tiny hiccup was when you said return it to the "root" of the card, not sure what you meant, what is the "root" of the card?
This means at the bottom level, not contained within any folder
I do not understand how this works

Is "High Dynamic Range Analog-to-Digital Conversion with Selective Regression Based Data Repair" (US20160241252A1) the patent you reference in re: 32-bit? I've worked quite a bit in digital imaging, and the "selective regression" approach you took to reconcile/cross-calibrate the different ADC stages is basically what I expected FWIW. From my own experience I'm sure that there's a lot of secret sauce in there to make it work well. As you say it's a tricky problem.
Great guys ever
Yall are the best!
Sound Devices seriously has the best product support I’ve seen at any company. You speak to a knowledgeable human on the phone right away. No silly automated system, outsourcing, or anything like that. You guys rock!
This is good to know. I always knew their customer was good. I sent in a used 702T to be checked and serviced if needed. I got a good bill of health . I no longer use the 702T. I use the mix pre-6 ii. Love it!!
Nice to meet you…
I think the Laura / Paul live demo combo team was outstanding! I hope they continue to do these. Coming from cheaper, less-capable brands to Sound Devices was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Currently rocking a MixPre 3II, MixPre 6II, MixPre 10II and my baby, an 833 with SL2 attached. And I anticipate these lasting the rest of my career without issue.
Thanks! Is there a way to record to both system drive AND SD at the same time as a safety? Thx
Hi there, the MixPre series does not have an internal SSD or "System Drive."
@@sounddev so if that's true I'm even more baffled. The SD card shows no files on it but when I plug the MixPre6 into my computer via USB-C it shows the files are there on the UNIT. Again, SD card is empty. So where exactly are these files being stored?? Thanks in advance!
@@JMLRecording The SD card should appear exactly the same whether you're moving files via USB-C or via card reader. If that isn't the case, then there's definitely an issue with your card reader.
@@sounddev oh wow. I'm using the reader on my iMac that definitely works fine though. Something is very wrong then. Thanks fro this info tho
I have a pair of MixPre IIs as well as an 888 and love 32-bit for its convenience, but I would remark that most _mics_ can’t exploit the full dynamic range of an 888 in 24-bit mode. If you trim the mic’s maximum usable level to, say, -6 dB, then you’ll find that the mic’s noise floor is still above the 888’s floor, and you can “run and gun” without worrying further about trim. I can think of several large-diaphragm mics for which this isn’t true, but those are the exception IME. It can also be true if you’re willing to push the mic well into its high-distortion regime, as you might with the hypothetical jet engine (after all, nobody will be able to tell).

Thank you guys for pushing 32bit. I am quiet surprised about all the doubt from a lot of production sound mixers regarding this topic. It's great to hear you guys understand what it' all about. And im here to say it now, that with 32bit capable transmitters and 32bit recorders rising in popularity, lots of workflows will change in recent years in favour of switching to 32bit from 24bit. Any dialogue editor would prefer 32bit recorded films if there is adequate workflow for it.
Did the fast forward beyond 16x speed get added?
No. Your request is noted. Here are the new things for v10 ... New: Added ability to record 32-bit float ISOs for full dynamic range recording. Added Daylight Mode On/Off option in the System > Display menu. Added support for the new SD-Remote Routing Matrix. Ability to rename Record Folders. Added Outputs > Playback Outputs menu with options for Playback to Headphones Only or All Outputs. When set to Headphones Only, input channels remain live to the outputs when playing back to headphones. New ‘Playback’ routing option in the HP Preset Routing menus. Ability to output playback timecode or live timecode during playback. Select in the new Timecode > Output Playback Timecode Menu. Characters ! : ’ ” / \ ? * are now available in the Notes metadata field. Added support for auto-mute on record, stop, and playback on Dante and USB outputs. Added Next Take Display option in the Record/Play menu allowing the Next take display to be latched on or momentary. Can be used with the Scene, Take, Notes ‘Follow stop’ toggle switch actions to quickly edit the metadata of the displayed take, whether it is Next or Current. Added Fahrenheit display for Smart Battery temperature data
Nicely presented. Thanks for explaining all the new features
Wohoo! Laura and Paul are awesome! Thanks very much to the whole team for all of the hard work that went in to v10. This is one of the reasons why SD is always on the top of my list when recommending anything recording or wireless.
Thank you for the ablility to rename the record folder!
The only downside for me right now is that my 1 month old 888 had to go in for a repair as channel 8 stopped passing audio when the machine got hot.
what are external filters ?
how do u set up the mixer 6 and Shure adx5d without the sl2 ?
Is there a way to designate frame rate? The MixPre manual says it "auto-detects" via HDMI, but in free standing mode. I'd like to set it to 24FPS, and mine defaults to 30FPS.
But why cant i change the Bitrate in record Settings to 32bit?
Set it in the Track to Media menu. It’s all detailed in the User Guide
Thank u
I want the Mixpre series to also support SD-Remote.
wow!!🤩
I love my Mix pre -6 ii, these look awesome for the real Pros!

Hi ! I'm using Scorpio + CL16. I have booms and lavs on channels 1 to 16. I have LCR mics from channel 17 to 19 and a stereo pair on channel 20/21. Is there a way to group faders+trim on channels 17 to 32? Thank you!
Hi there! There is not a way to link channels 17-32 .
trying to get an answer as to why i cannot hear any sound in my headphones when using mixpre as audio interface and mixpre asio driver with ableton live. It can record in but regardless of my settings i cannot get sound into my headphones from either the headphone jack or stereo out jack. It looks like this question was answered a second time at the very end of the video but she only referenced an earler part of this hour long video and lol i cant find the answer because it was only referenced
